Night navigation of the Suez canal

Dear Sirs,
Reffering to our circular of May last, we are glad to say that our portable electric apparatus is now being successfully used, and is giving great satisfaction, some steamers having passed through the Canal with it in from 17 to 18 hours.
We have now completed arrangements for the supply of both steam and exhaust pipes, so that steamers will only require to be provided with a branch steam connection, the flange of which may be either parallel with or at right angles to the deck; the dimensions of this flange are given overleaf.
We annex sketches showing:
Figure 1. - The dynamo in place close to n°2 hatch before the bridge, and the Arc-Lamp in position.
Figure 2. - The projector over the ship's bow, held in position by a derrick or Anchor Crane. (The bottom of the cage must not come below the hawse-pipe.)
Figure 3. - The full size of the flange above referred to, for making connection to the steam pipe of the dynamo. (N.B. The position of the branch steam connection should be closed to n°1, or much better still n°2 hatchway, and so arranged that there is ample room for the machine either forward or aft of this connection.)
The weight of the dynamo and motor is 30 cwt., not one ton as previously stated.
We are, dear Sirs,
Yours truly,

Worms Josse & C°
