Dear Sirs,
We beg to own receipt of your telegram of yesterday as fellows:

We did not understand your request and therefore supposed the telegram had been sent us in error, so we telegraph you:

Last night we received your further telegram as follows:

Aflojo:                        Must arrive here

The Messageries steamer bound to your port and due to arrive about 28th was the "Oxus" which arrived here on the 15th and cleared the Canal at Suez at 9 pm on the 16th. We enquired of the Messageries C° here if they had any later news of the "Oxus" than that mentioned above, and on receiving a reply in the negative, we telegraphed you this morning, as follows:

Sailed on the... Suez.

Have no further news.
