G.W.Moore Esq

Dear Mr Moore,
In reference to my call upon you when I intimated that we had now made two small contracts for Large Coal over next year at the price of 25/- net pr ton fob it is understood that some reduction on this figure might reasonably be expected in dealing with the larger business we have so long had the pleasure of maintaining with your firm. I propose to you therefore a quantity of say 60.000 tons over 1916 at the price of 24/6 net pr ton fob. In naming this quantity I am personally assuming that the balance of this year's contracts may be carried forward to your credit, but I must at present add that the matter has not been considered yet by my people and I have therefore no authority to state that their views on the question will support my own, which are entirely in favour of the arrears being carried forward.
There will be a question of the terms of payment and in future it seems desirable that the ordinary form of contract be adopted instead of the written one hitherto in use.
Yours very truly,

[Signature illisible]
