Dear Sirs,
South African Business - Documents. We have to-day received your letter under this heading of the 1st inst., for which we thank you, and we acknowledge receipt of the papers you enclosed, including a Press copy of the Compagnie des Messageries maritimes' letter to you of the 26th February, in connection with the disbursements of the s.s. "kratos" at Colombo. We take note of the comments made by your Marseilles friends with regard to the commission on the disbursements, also the reply, with which we are in accord, that you have made.
We agree the figures you give as representing the difference in our favour, for which we note you will remit us a cheque upon receiving the approval of the Company.
With regard to the certificate of discharge, we are not in need of this but we presume that should the owners require us to furnish them with one you could quite easily obtain a copy.
We note it may be assumed that no despatch money was earned in the discharge, seeing that the Compagnie des Messageries maritimes say nothing about the matter.
We are, dear Sirs,
Yours faithfully,

For Mann, George & Co. Limited,
[Signature illisible]
Managing director
