Messrs. The Albion Coaly C° Ld
Cardiff

Dear Sirs,
We have to acknowledge receipt of your favor of even date.
Whilst admitting that you have on account of diminished output thro' sickness amongst your colliers, some slight excuse for the non execution of your contract, yet it is at the same time no argument bearing on our case that you cannot deliver us coal, because you are so full of tonnage the greater position, if not the whole of which must have been accepted by you and placed on your stem, since the beginning of the year, and at a time when you were perfectly aware that coal was due to us, and the onus must entirely rest with you, if you did not choose to reserve coal in order to meet and carry out the requirements of our contract.
We must insist on our rights, as indicated in our previous letter of this date, as well as your placing on stem the two steamers which we have named to you, viz "Paris" s/s and "Kinsale" s/s.
We remain, dear Sirs, yours truly,

P.Pro Worms & C°
P. A. Vyvyan Robinson

As a matter of fact, in response to personal demands for coal made by the writer during the month of January, Mr. Cope promised that after the end of January he would make up leeway and put the contract level as regards deliveries.
